Please explain

I would like to have an explanation on the following: My outstanding balance is about R2000.00 last month i made a pmt of R150-00 and it was R60-00 short. I get a call from an agent advising me that I need to make a payment of R950-00. How can the instalment be R950-00 if my outstanding balance is R2000-00? I await your reply.
