I recently purchased an external 1TB (Verbatim) hard drive ..I bought it in December and when I took it out of the box and plugged it in it made strange noises but I assumed its the way the drive is... then I carried on using it then in January it started giving me an error that I need to scan the drive as ot has errors and to prevent data loss I need to scan the drive... I did that... in feb it gave me the same error and I did it again... now the other day it gave me an error that the drive was unusable and I need to format it beforei can use it... 1 the drive is used for work back ups and we were already on 500GB... the drive was plugged in to the same server from day 1 and has not been unplugged or moved around since day 1... never been dropped or anything... its just a bad quality product... we lost all our back ups... and in three months the drive is no longer working... did I waste my moneywith u guys??? I formatted the drive and when u try access it it gives error "cyclic redundancy error" meaning the inner disk is no longer working... making the drive useless.
