A bad lesson in client retention

I have had an account with Edgars for a number of years, and recently enquired on the website form as to what I need to do to close my account. I received a reference number: 1869315/20130118/S.G.N

I had no response on this, so then sent an email on 18 Feb, waited for another 48 hours (which is not bad as most call centres have a 48 hour response time on emails) before I got a response to inform me that the account number I'd provided was incorrect and to provide my ID number, which I did on the same day. It is now the 26th and still no response.

I would like to thank Edgars for validating my decision to close my account. I have worked in the call centre industry for many years and am simply astounded at your lack of interest to retain your customers.. but hey, continue to chase the bad debt, slow paying customers.. they do after all provide your main source of income.

I have no desire what so ever for anyone to contact me.
