I bought a food processor as a gift for my fiance in Sept 2012. I first used it on Monday 7 Jan and it broke whilst in use. I took it to Game, Menlyn and Mr Sello Sefolo spoke in an African language to Ms Maggie Montwedi and then told me that since it is more than 10 days, it will be sent for repairs. I told him that I only used it once when needed, it did not meet my requirements and also broke. I asked him for the policy, he pointed to the wall and it wasn't there. He told me that Maggie will bring it. He then tried to justify in terms of CPA but had less knowledge about the Act than me. Maggie then came back and booked it in. She told me that it had been used - I wonder how I would have known it was broken otherwise. I told her it was virtually impossible for a layman to repack iit, therefore it was in original condition but the box broke when I tried to repack it. I asked Sello for the policy again and he informed me to email customer services. I have spent more than R 15 000 in the past 2 years at Game. After the product is repaired it will still not be suitable for my needs. I do not believe any customer should have to be treated with such disdain. I will shop at Makro in future.
