Mr Price Selling Poor Quality Products - Maxed

On 20 October (I have the proof of purchase) I bought a Maxed Mamba (size 2) cricket set from Mr Price Sport Potchefstroom as a Christmas present. So it was obviously lying unused for 2 months and then only really used since school (and the cricket season) started again mid January. My son only has cricket practice every Saturday and as an only child he does not get to play much cricket on his own. Basically what it boils down to is within 4-6 Saturdays of him opening his Christmas present it is broken. It almost looks like it was never glued (where the handle and bat meet) as it just came out there. The kit came with the red (heavier) ball and that is also what he hit (a good hit) when this happened. So the bat was used with the ball that was supplied with the kit.

I am appalled at the quality of sports gear that they keep (if this is an indication). And we specifically didn't go for the cheap R 79 kits as I thought that I didn't want to have to drive all the way back to Potch (from the West Rand) if the cheap quality broke.
