Amount tendered reflected incorrectly on till slip

Shops, Products, Services

Beware the latest. You buy a product at R9.99 and give R10.00. The till slip indicates R9.99 tendered and no change due. It happened to me on 9 Feb at 16:49:10 at cashier Nanga (207).

After selecting a product that was marked R9.99 I went to pay and tendered R10.00. The sale was rung and I was handed my till slip. On enquiring about my change, I was laughed at. When I insisted on my change, a supervisor had to be called to give me 10 cents change. I did not ask for 10 cents though.

It is about honesty, integrity and good business ethics.

I tendered R10.00 and not R9.99. That is.
We are fully aware that there is no smaller denomination than 10 cents.
I do not set the price.
Pick n Pay can round off to the lowest 10 cents, why did they not?
And in the last place, why does the till slip state "Change Adjustment 0.00". Is the employee baffling the system? This looks more likely.

This is unacceptable and shows either poor supervision or acceptance by the company of activities. The supervisor acted as if this was normal.

Ref: Tax invoice 20#058911

1000 transactions per day = possible R100 per day in cashiers pocket.

Be aware!
