Decision to not Supply Jewish Community - Pesach

Shops, Products, Services

It disappointed me to find out that Coca Cola made a decision to pull their brand this year from being one of the products on the Jewish families Passover tables. For the past decade most Jewish familes enjoyed the huge brands Coca Cola original and Coke Light over the 8 day festival. Whilst other products are available, most consumers opt for the original brand, me being one of them.
On calling Marcia Samosuwa, head of the customer complaints department of Coca Cola, i was told that a team at the company had decided to pull the brand.
This to me is completely outrageous. Coca Cola has not indicate reasoning for this decision nor have they called the UOS (Union of Orthodox Synagogues) to explain such a decision either.
Is it a financial issue? A political issue? Will they be pulling the HALAL stamp as well?
A simple telephone call to the UOS with an explanation for the reasoning behind this would be the "correct" way for a market giant to behave.
To Coca Cola it might sound like 8 days but to the Jewish community its one of the most significant and widely observed Religious Festivals on our calendar with very strict dietry requirements limiting the scope of products available.
