Rice Krispies box on purchasing haf full!!!

My husband and I have noticed that the box containing rice krispies that we purchase is HALF FULL. We would like to enquire as to why the public is being ripped off like this. Obviously the consumables are packaged according to weight so why are goods put into boxes that appear much bigger than the goods actually purchased. This is daylight. Surely the contents should at least fill the box or the box size needs to be smaller??? Not all of us are easily fooled. Very disappointing.
