Iltong and chocolates are old

I purchased biltong and chocolates from the pick and mix containers, the chocolate was a little bit white, which did not bother me as i know that is is normal for chocolate that has sweated to become a bit white on the outside, and this does not affect the taste or freshness, however, once i tasted it, i could clearly taste that this was not the case, the chocolate was so old that it crumbled as i bit into and was not edible, i had the same problem with the biltong, it was defiantly too old to be on the shelf and was also a bit white and had lost all its texture and taste due to the fact that it was past its sell by date, im assuming this is due to the fact that the biltong and chilli bites are not restocked often as it is not one of the popular choices at sweets from heaven as the the price per 100g is substantially higher than other retail stores, which i have no objection in paying if the product i paid for was of good quality.
