On 5 January 2013, I injured myself during a slip and fall incident at the N1 City Mall. I reported it immediately, completed the incident report form and was told that the manager will contact me on the Monday. However, by late afternoon on the Wednesday, after I had no response from the manager, I went to see the manager, who confirmed that he saw the incident on cctv footage. He told me to submit the necessary documentation, Doctor's report, sick certificates, images of my injured knee and a detailed email. Four days later he contacted me to say that the scanned documents are not clear and on the Friday my daughter personally delivered copies of the documents to Mr Van Rhyn. This was followed by another email to Mr Van Rhyn in which I again explained the consequences of this occurrence. He did not respond at all. I was hoping to settle in an amicable way but I have no idea what is happening now. The spillage was not due to any negligence on my side and it is certainly not necessary for anybody do make sure their footing is safe at each step when doing shopping. All I expect is a progress report and acknowledgement of my emails. Today is one month since the incident took place.
