I was at the checkout at Checkers Cresta when I noticed that one of the pay points was empty and a cashier was sitting there doing nothing. I then approched to enquire if I could pay at her counter. She didn't even look at me and said something in a very bad attitude and pointed out that the exit to her counter was closed, implying that she was no longer available to serve new customers. I requested her to repeat what she'd said in a more polite manner but she just ignored me. The cashier next to her intervened on her behalf. I then requested for her name so that I could inform her manager of the incident. Again, she just ignored me. After paying for my stuff at another counter, I made the management aware of the incident and pointed out the cashier in question. However, nothing was done about this ill treatment and this cashier was never called to explain her actions or to apologise for her bad attitude. Both my right to be treated with respect and dignity were violated and was further
humiliated by the manager's lack of appropriate action. Checkers needs to invest more on good old customer
service by training their staff and act on customer complaints effectively.
