Late banking

I made a purchase in december and donna claire only banked their transaction in january.they have debited my account now in january leaving me stranded for money to get to work this week. I got an update that the funds were paid in december but the store banked the money late. I feel that its unfair that they bank when it suits them and leaves the cusromer stranded. I called the head office but was kept on hold for too long.
