Bought BLU-Ray DVD Plye

I purchased a SAMSUNG BLU-RAY DISC PLAYER MODEL BD-E5300/XA which was marked down from R798 to R398,
I asked the personell there in the electronics section if the BLU-Ray Player needed a remote to operate and they said no it didn't need one to operate but however It NOW NEEDS ONE TO SELECT VARIOUS OPTIONS

I purchased the unit on their advice and felt content that i had made a good purchase at GAME but when i got home its now the opposite
