It's YOUR fault that Woolworths has too much stock

Shops, Products, Services

I went shopping around the 28th of December.

Almost all of the fresh produce - vegetables and salads - had an expiry date of the 28th (i.e. that day).

I then made the horrible mistake of telling the store manager that I though it was ridiculous that they had food on the shelves with an EXPIRY (not sell by) date of that day.

He was very confused and could not seem to see any problem with it. He asked me what he was supposed to do with the food if he took it off the shelves (have you considered giving your managers training in stock management, Woolworths??). That is your problem, not mine.

I tried to explain to him that I did not want to buy food which would expire in 10 hours time. His response to this was that the food would be fine and it would not go off! My question for you here: is Woolworths lying about the expiry date to get us to throw the food away before it is really off, or is your manager a who does not understand what the expiry date is for? Either way, you are not covering yourself in glory...

Please can someone give this poor manager some training on customer service, as he is woefully out of his depth...

This is not the first time this has happened...
