I am disgusted in my experiences at the protea book store in Pretoria, I've felt this way for a while now and I've finally decided to complain about it. A woman who fits this description (short hair, sometimes where's specs and a bit over weight and Afrikaans speaking) has been so unpleasant and extremely rude, I went to return some books that I bought from them as they had been the wrong edition and been brand new she refused to assist me&exchange the brand new books, according to her I was irresponsible and her problems are not mine. She yelled at me, slammed the books to the extent that I was in tears. My 2 nd experience was with another member of management on a separate occasion, her being an elderly white woman, was being rude to a black man who had a list of books he needed, she kept yelling that she needed his license? Since when do you need a license to buy books? I'm not sure, poor guy. I went there again today, and Ironically I noticed to young Indian girls around 15 been yelled at by the same 2 women and they looked like they wanted to sell some books back to protea. Management@the store are rude and unhelpful, & extremely aggressive. What kind of service is this?
