Unilever
Piece of wood in my ice cream?!?

Shops, Products, Services

On my way home from a long day at work, I stopped at the Sasol on CR Swart in Randburg to buy a few things, including some Fruttare ice lollies. I got home and started to eat one of the lollies when, halfway through, I felt something very strange in my mouth: It was a piece of wood (from a broken ice cream stick)! It could not have come from the one I was eating, as this stick was completely intact. How did this happen?!? What if I had swallowed it?!?

I want someone from Unilever to contact me and explain how this could have happened and what they are going to do about it. I still have the wrapping, stick and the piece of wood with me, which I will keep as evidence. This is not up to health and safety standards and I want a satisfactory response and explanation or I shall have to take this further.
