Pick 'n Pay
Unhygienic & inadequate baby room facilities

Shops, Products, Services

I visited the baby room facilities at PNP Kenilworth Centre on 18/11/2013. It was in a terrible state! It's worthwhile mentioning that this store is the closest one to PNP head office. I contacted the PNP call centre on 19/11/2013 to report the incident. Mekyle (PNP call centre) logged my complaint and has been trying to get feedback from the store manager, John, regarding my complaint for the last three weeks. He has kept me in the loop on this and has escalated the complaint. Still no reply. In summary: there was handcuffs tied to the wall. Is it a holding cell for shoplifters until the SAP arrive? The room is situated by a service door, which was open at the time with trolley traffic passing by every so often. The door did not lock! So much for privacy while breastfeeding. The change station covers were filthy. There wasn't a proper chair for feeding a baby and the two plastic chairs were held together with duct tape. The floor was dirty and there was no hand soap. Overall, the state of the baby room was unacceptable, unhygienic & did not have the proper facilities or location for a baby room. I've been to baby rooms at other PNP stores and I know this is not the standard.
