Truworths
Would not sell to me!!

I got into Truworths Garden Centre at 18:55 to buy some sandals and they close at 19:00.By the time I found a pair of sandals in my size, it was 19:10 and I took it to the till to buy it. When I got to the till, the clerk told me they had already logged off the system and therefore couldn't make the sale. I asked them if they could simply log back on, and they said this could not be done. I then asked if I can leave them with the money and the box for the sandals and anything they need for the barcode and stuff so I can take it now and they can sort out their admin tomorrow, to which she refused. I asked to speak to the manager since I thought maybe the clerk did not have the authority to do this. The manager then gave me the same story about the system being closed. I made the same proposal about leaving them with the money and she refused as well. I said that since she was the manager, surely she could write a note about it or something since she knows exactly what happened. Through this whole thing I remained calm and did not raise my voice or throw a tantrum but they simply would not budge and would not allow me to purchase the item despite having entered the store in time.
