Legal action on account

I received a called from a lawyers office that Miladys has taken legal action against me for R290.00 because after I paid off my account in 2009 and had not used the account since, I was never informed that I would have to close my account. For all these years I was never contacted at all about account being active or that I wad being charged anything on the account. I am not prepared to pay for an account I have been using. I havent been using the account for years its quite obvious I didn't intend using it again. Im terribly disappointed with this kind of treatment
