Manager admits to faulty product - refuses refund

A while ago I purchased 2 training shorts from the Mr Price Sport near Tygervalley. These were the black and neon yellow "MAXED" branded shorts, Mr Price's home brand. While trying to tie the pants at gym I noticed that the cord I was supposed to use to tighten the fit just kept coming and I eventuall pulled it out completely. I saw then that the cord was in fact two pieces of cord tied together at the back with a piece of string. I thought this was very strange and had to leave gym because the pants would be inadaquite to wear without tightening them. The same thing happened to the other pair. I got around to returning the shorts purchased for R100 each (no PoP), the same price as what the new model of the same shorts were in store. I requested that the manager take the two pairs of faulty shorts and give me the newer (single cord) range instead. After 40mins of phonecalls and paging through files, the manager concluded that he would instead give me R40 for each pair of faulty pants since this was the final price that this model of the pants sold for in store. It was unbelievable. I told the manager I would never return after such a display of poor service. I haven't. Mr G
