Torn Top and Manger would not change it or refund

I purchased a top from Woolworths Rosebank on the 20 September 2013. i have never worn the top and the price is still on it. I discovered a week ago that the top its torn and went to Woolworths today to exchange it. The manager in pretty simple words advised me that they will not change it as it is not aloud and that I must have torn it. I am very dissapointed and very upset.
