Refusing to accept returned good

My wife bought a baby bottle holder at Baby Boom Carnival Mall yesterday (04/10/2013) and asked the sales person if she can return it if the bottles are too big, and the person responded yes she can return it, unfortunately the bottles were too big for the bottle holder. When she returned to the store today to return this bottle she was told they cannot accept them because they are not in the original packaging, this is the store manager by the name Charmaine Masondo. The only way one can see if this bottle can fit is to remove the plastic packaging and put the bottle, I phoned the store, and spoke to Charmaine again, she told me with the attitude that she will not accept the bottle and if i have a problem i must just take it to head office because no one will buy this good if it is in the original packages, and my wife was supposed to check the sizes before buying. I have asked her what sizes are outside the packaging she says it read normal and standard, and I responded normal and standard are not sizes but if it was in width and proper millimetre size it would be understandable, she responded that she is not a manufacture of the good.
