SOMEONE DOESNT DESERVE A JOB

I was at the checkout in Pick n Pay Constantia on Sunday 27 January 2013 -4:15 pm. I was at teller 19 being "served" by Elizabeth. There was some sort of hold up at the till so my partner enquired what the hold up was. Elizabeth turned to him with her arms folded and a look on her face that could have turned someone to stone. She grunted - waiting on a price. My partner clearly shocked, responded with: well thank you very much (in much the same tone Elizabeth had chosen for her communication). Elizabeth says, in the same tone - Pleasure. My partner says: is that your idea of customer service? Elizabeth says - yes.
I was absolutely floored by this experience. It is one thing providing a bad service, but to do it knowingly and intentionally is something I can not get my head around. Once she realised that she has been rude why did she not make an effort to rectify her behaviour?!
There are thousands of people out there without work and I am sure they could do a much better job than Elizabeth who clearly doesnt want her job, or deserve it for that matter.
Pick n Pay you're going to have to pull up your socks in the training department if you want to compete with the big boys
