Unused and non functional grille

Early this month I bought griller at checkers mayville, this Saturday I tried to use it for the first it was only on for few seconds then it went off without using it. I looked around for my proof of purchase but I could not find it and now Im stuck with a new griller that is not functioning in my cupboard. Please help me
