David phoned our office on 20 August about an outstanding invoice. After being told that the responsible person (me) was not available he demanded both my and the owner's personal telephone numbers. When the request was denied, he proceeded to became very abusive, telling my colleague that he was going to see that she is fired and never work again, that he was going to have the owner, her as well as her husband blacklisted so that nobody would ever be able to buy anything. She eventually put the phone down in his ear and was terribly upset. When I called him, he was calm initially but kept on interrupting me while I tried to explain that I was not aware of any outstanding invoice. When I finally spoke harshly and requested him to keep quiet and give me a chance to finish at least one sentence, he became aggressive and verbally abusive and I also ended up putting the phone down in his ear.
I have NEVER experienced such bad behaviour from anybody and am of the opinion that David is definitely not in the right position or is totally over-worked and in the process of totally losing it. A course in anger management may also not be a bad idea.
