I have just heard that my Woolworths account has been handed over to attorneys after 3 years. I paid my last account in May 2010 and thereafter I did not hear anything from Woolworths again. No statements, no phone calls and no smses received from since 2010 until June or July 2013 where I received a sms from an attorneys company advising that my account was handed over. I now get smses advising of an amount that needs to be settled immediately. Why was I not sent any correspondence since my last payment in April 2010? Please answer. I will be taking this matter to the Consumer Protection Act as I see it being unfair.
