House and Home -paying lip service to NCA

Shops, Products, Services

After trying to get finance for a TV for an emplyoyee who lives in an RDP house I think that It is easier to a television than deal with House Home (Checkers) - Boksburg

The House and Home stores have a sign that reads: "Proud to be NCA compliant"
The contents of the sign states that the prices on display include interest rates, delivery costs, and compulsory insurance"
But when you look at the finance contracts there is an additional compulsory life insurance that must be added to the final figure before a deal can be concluded. So the signage is misleading both on the items that are for sale and on the posters boasting that they are NCA compliant. So an individual has to pay R1200 life insurance to be able to purchase a R3000.00 television set.
I thought The NCA had put a stop to this rip off. This is just a loophole that House and Home and others are exploiting. A R3000 television ends up costing R6400 over 30 months - with finance being charged on delivery fees and extended giarantee and licence fees and then the compulsory life insurance being still added. Are the NCA and the CPA just bull dogs without teeth???
