Warranty/peace o mind promise on Russell Hobbs

Vacuum Cleaner Russell Hobbs: I believed that the fault could be with the dust filter. I called the Johannesburg number for Russell Hobbs as indicated on the manual. They referred me to a business called 'Lategan' in Gezina Pretoria, the official support for Russell Hobbs for after -sales service (says Hobbs Jhb), On enquiry with Lategan they stated that spares were not available for this newer model of vacuum cleaner.
Having explored all avenues, I resorted to returning the unit to place of Purchase, being Macro Silver Lakes Pretoria.
They refused to assist me, and said that they could not assess the problem with the vacuum cleaner as they were not suitably trained or qualified to do so, and due to their own incompetence, would have send the unit away for assessment.
At this point in time the unit was:
o Faulty and unusable
o Macro staffs were unable to assess the status of the machine and had to resort to sending the unit back to the maintenance centre to supplement their lack of competence.
o The unit was in any case irreparable according to Lategan as spares were not available.
o Macro and Russell Hobbs could therefore not honour any warranty.
o Macro refused to assist by replac
