Bad service from cellphone consultant & claim mess

I bought a cellphone from Edgars in August 2012 and took cellphone insurance under the advise of the consultant stating that it was mandatory to take it and I could cancel it later if I didn't want it. I took the insurance and she put me on the R40 premium although as the consultant she knows first hand the value of my claim requires me to be on the R56 premium. So 10 months later the phone starts giving me problems and I'm being informed that I'm insured up to the value of R2000 BUT my phone is worth more. They take my phone in to be assessed and NOTHING has been done to assess it for the last month and if I hadn't called nothing would have been done to the phone. I am disgusted at the lack of product knowledge from the cellphone counter st Sothgate and the mess they made by under insuring me. I'm also appalled by the amount of time and money I have had to spend just to get progress on my claim. I'm writing this while I have been waiting 30 min for a consultant who put me on hold.
