Bed King
A damaged and used bed was sold to me

I recently purchased a bed from Bed King Chatsworth for R7000 as I was renovating my bedroom. To my dismay, the base was already damaged. I returned to the store and explained the condition of the bed. However, the salesperson whom sold me the bed was utterly rude to me and asked me to contact the manufacturer. A bed inspector was sent by the manufacter and confirmed the bed was used. I immediately contacted the National Consumer Commission who kindly reviewed my rights as a consumer. According to Act 55 and 56, Bed King Chatsworth has violated my rights as a consumer. I also contacted Ombudsman for assistance and i was told that Bed King Chatsworth is illegally running under franchise name of the Bed King and is currently under investigation. I strongly advise people to think twice before purchasing from Bed King Chatsworth. Instead of upgrading to a comfortable bed for myself, I am in fact experiencing torturous sleepless nights and constant backaches. I will certainly fight for my rights with the help of the National Consumer Commission. I hope my experience with the Bed King has shown other consumers that they are not a reputable dealer.
