For the last 2 years that I have been shopping at Pick 'n Pay Hillcrest the service has continually declined.

In general there are not enough tellers. Out of the 12 payment stations on average only 3 or 4 are actually manned resulting in long waiting queues for payments.

Often the bakery, cold meat and vegetable sections have no staff to help you or weigh your vegetables. On the odd occasion where there is a staff member their attitudes leave much to be desired.

On one occasion a staff member wouldn't let me into the store 15 minutes before closing time since "We are already closed".

Among other products, I once bought 4 packs of bacon on special only to go home and find that all 4 packs of bacon were already off.

Today I was waiting for a staff member to help at the bakery section and a small queue developed behind me. When the staff member eventually arrived she proceeded to help the first person behind me and then told me I must go to the back of the line.

This was the final straw. From now on I am rather going to shop at Woolworths and I will gladly pay a small premium for the massive increase in customer service.
