Asked To Pay for Factory Fault Repairs on PlasmaTV

I bought a plasma screen TV 51 inches from House and Home in Greenstone mall. At the time that I bought it I paid the full price in cash, I was told the TV had a 2 year warranty on it. 18 months later the TV screen spontaneously cracked internally. I took the TV in to House and Home feeling confident the warranty would cover it. I was told the warranty had been for only 1 year, I tried to argue my case as the salesman was still there and he remembered the warranty conversation, he called the admin centre and was told all warranties on plasma TVs from Samsung at that time were only 1 year, as I had no written proof I did not push this further. At this point I was told the TV would be taken in for assessment and if the internal crack on the screen was due to factory faults then the supplier (Samsung) would fix and return my TV at their cost, if it was due to a fault on my part then I would be liable for costs. The assessment report was that this was due to a factory fault and thus i expected the supplier would pay. After the repairs I was told the supplier was refusing to pay so I must pay. H&H please manage the relationship with your supplier, fix and give me my TV back!
