Calling for help is useless

Recreation & Entertainment

I lost signal, after a storm, and called, The response was that there's something wrong with the signal, DUH!!
I wanted someone to come out and look at it, but the with a minimum call out fee of R399.00 I decided to sort it out myself. I got a signal finder and found signal after a few tries. I was able to watch DSTV again, but I could not record. I contacted the callcentre again and asked them for help. They asked if both my cables were connected, I explained that I have a SATCR LNB and that there is only one cable. After waisted a couple of Rand on the call no one could assist me, they don't know what a SATCR LNB is. Unfortunately another storm came up and I lost signal again. I got the signal finder and found the strongest possible signal, but nothing on the TV. I decided to go to a DSTV outlet, Faerieglen, and asked for help, they could not help and said I must bring in our decoder. I did just that and there was nothing wrong with it. Asking again what might be the problem, no advice was given and I was referred to a minimum call out fee of R399.00. Turns out the LNB Cables should not point to the roof, who Knew, This could have been done over the phone. Exploiting customers!!
