Deposit Refund

I paid (R5294.) for deposit for a flat i was intending to rent on 30 August 2013. I signed the contract without paying full amount. on Monday 02 September 2013 I decided to cancel contract due to unforseen circumstances and I was told I will not get my deposit back because I have breached the contract. I then later communicated with them and I was advised i will only get my deposit back only if they find a new tenant. Its been a mionth and nothing has been resolved.
