Gautrain
Why only use 1 Access point at peak traffic

As a frequent user of the Gautrain I must say I am very confused why Gautrain management in their wisdom will during peak traffice 07h00 - 08h00 actually close one of the access gates to the station and only allow cars to enter the station at one point.
Can you please explain this "logic" to me as I am utterly confused why I had to sit in a traffic jam this morning for 15 min purely as a result of this clever move?
