I have been checking for more than 4week

I went to labour department on the 17/09/2013 to register for my uif claim they told me it takes for about 4weeks and i must come check it i have been checking still date i now not know what to do for how long must i wait for those funds .cause they keep on telling me that come check it next week till when im so broke of the travelling cost and im unemployed at the moment
