Umsunduzi Municipality
Service delivery: Road Safety

Politics & Government

This is just to make the Umsunduzi Municipalty in KZN Pietermaritzburg about the crossing at Gladys Manzi Road and Reggie Hadebe Road. This crossing poses a threat to all road users who drive past it including myself. I have seen fatal accidents on this crossing. My suggestion is that the Municipal install robots or at least speed humps on this crossing. We are the public who are using this road and we are paying the tax and rates in Pietermaritzburg and we have to benefit for what we are paying in a form of tax.
Secondly: Most of the township roads are not monitored, cleaned and drains unblocked leading to road surface get washed by water, making it hard for motorists to share the roads, the road surfaces are bumpy and water leaks in many areas wash/damage the roads. We are citizens who renew car discs every year and we need to enjoy driving on the roads we are paying for, not fixing the cars every months because of pot holes, accidents due to no robots/speed humps, etc.
Thirdly: There are no dedicated waste dump sites for other townships like Imbali, you find waste dumped all over even on the roads, what plans do you have as a Municipality? Honest opinions from a citizen.
