SARS can't copy/certify ID book?!?

All I need to do is update my banking details. Doing them a favor.

But they can't help me without getting certified copies of my ID book from the Lawyer next door whom charges R20 per certification. When asked before I went, I was told to bring stamped banked statements, proof of residence and ID. Yeah right.

Apparently original documentation isn't useful for anything anymore. I hate living in the stone age with this incompetent government.
