Emaciated and Sick kittens

In Mid-December we decided to get our daughter her first kitten. We went to, Reptilians in Midrand. There we found a little black kitten and took him home. The kitten felt like skin and bone and was very lethargic. As soon as we got him home, we noticed that his tail was broken at the end. It was a clean break and the bone was bent the opposite way to the tail. The very next day we took the kitten to the vet for a check-up, deworming and vaccinations.

Last Monday we decided to buy a companion for the first kitten, We got a little ginger kitten. The next day he was taken to the vet who again could not believe how skinny the kitten was. The kitten was far too skinny for an eight week old kitten. The kitten only weighed 740grams (the first kitten had weighed 700grams as well). The second kitten has been diagnosed with Coccidia as it has had non-stop diarrhea since we got him.

The second kitten stank of feces when we got him and it has been a constant worry about his health as everything just passes through him. In one week he has put on 160grams but its not enough and he needs weekly check-ups for the next few weeks as he was so malnourished.
