Obey Your Body
Pricing at pop-up shops is excessive

I was in Morningside shopping centre and was persuaded by a lady at a pop up shop to sample the Obey Your Body body scrub - it felt really nice, and after listening to a long list of its benefits I paid the asking price of R799 for a jar. Imagine my horror when i just saw it being sold on Zando (with an eye cream) for R200 odd rand. So I phoned the head office in Cape Town to complain. Got the usual story of they just wholesale and they can't control the retail prices. (In fact they do sell to the public - and are selling it themselves at R451, 80). Unfortunately for them, that just means that I will always associate their product with being ripped off. Left such a nasty taste in my mouth I won't touch their products again.

Interestingly enough I did some research on the brand because I am so irritated, and there are other complaints about the product and the selling methods used - it seems this pressurised, once-off marketing in malls is characteristic of this company - check it out for yourself, before you buy!!!
