I have been an loyal customer to the Russel Hobbs brand ever since I started working and could afford to buy my own stuff. Recently I have been very disappointed with the brand, more especially their line of premium electric kettles. I had bought my second Russel Hobbs cordless 1.7l glass kettle 1.5 years ago. I am now experiencing the same fault as my previous one (which I taught was maybe just a bad batch). The lid jams and refuses to open. I paid? R650 for this glass kettle, expecting it to be of superior quality to other brands. I have heard of many other similar if not the same complaints from family and friends. The guarantee for the product is expired and I do not have the receipt any longer so will not pay to get it fixed as it already cost me so much to purchase this product. Doesn't Russel Hobbs have a quality control system? I called the head office and they tell me that they do not even have a customer complaints department? I am utterly disappointed in this brand.
