Good Pet
A decision without having observed what happend

Miscellaneous

I joined Mari's dog playgroup and this was the second time my dog had attended. During the first visit we were careful as the dog had not been socialised as much as I would have liked. He reacted well to all the other dogs and was allowed to have a cautious greeting with all the dogs. Mari (trainer) complimented him on his behaviour. This week as I arrived, another dog was standing nearby and both dogs rushed to each other and some growling ensued. It was not one or the other's fault and both I and the other owner pulled them apart quickly and apologised to each other. Mari the trainer did not witness the incident but because the other person had been coming to classes for a while (I did not see her there previously though) I was told that my dog could not interact with the other dogs and that he would have to join an obedience class first. I then said that if my dog could not interact with the other dogs that then there was no point, as the dog's enjoyment was the main priority. He is ten years old and has attended obedience classes before. Mari told me I could not handle my dog (which is blatantly untrue as I walk him in a built up neighbourhood every day).
