No responsibility for existing contract

I had originally bought a 5 year contract from Aesthetics express who then sold the business and changed the name to Mint Skin and Laser Clinic but had assured us that the contracts would be honoured by the new business. The Laser machine then had the wrong filter which was then apparently rectified, but after 5 more sessions there was no change. So I then started the process of trying to get my money back, I had not received a response to any of my emails and the new owners now say that they bought the business without having to honour the contracts but have kept the Mint Skin name... There was no prior notification of the sale and now they will not refund the money. The new owners will not give out their name either - they have asked me to go in for further consultation, which i will not do as they have been very aggressive in their responses and blame the previous owner - saying that she is liable for this amount. The laser machine does not work... after almost 20 sessions I have had no results, and have had agreement from 3 other previous clients.
