No Notice increase of close to 50%

Although they have very good facility, be warned about Stor-age Westrand!!

I signed a contract with them in May 2012 at a rate of R650 pm. Then this January I see that the price has suddenly increased to R950 - NO notice, NO communication - NOTHING!

After inquiring the store eventually replies "The reason why the rent has increased is because the unit that you currently occupy has a higher current trading rent value" - this should not be my problem and its actually the reason I decided to sign a CONTRACT with them in the first place.

My contract stipulates a rate of R650 pm - AND I have written confirmation from the staff at the same branch, prior to me signing the contract, that the quoted rate (R650) will be applicable for as long as I choose to rent the unit... if this isn't dishonest business practice, I don't know what is!

Be warned about this as I see I'm not the only one on Hello Peter with the same complaint...

I now await for someone to contact me and to rectify this asap.
