SABC LICENSE HARRASSMENT OF OLD AGE PENSIONER

In 2009 I retired and moved to Johannesburg to live with family. Along with most of my other possessions I sold my TV. I advised SABC of this fact, giving them the details of the new owner of my TV and advising them to deregister me as a TV license holder. On 26th October 2009 I sent them a signed affidavit to that effect.

Since 2009 (4 years) I have received several calls from SABC/debt collecting agencies requesting payment or advising me that I am in arrears with my license. On each occasion I have reiterated the above mentioned facts. Today I received yet another telephonic request from a company called Nudebt which is apparently part of the SABC organisation. I'm afraid I lost my temper and screamed at the poor soul on the other end to leave me alone. I am normally a very calm and patient person and did not like loosing my temper. I decided to try one more time to get through to the powers that be at SABC that they really must update their records. Or perhaps they have nothing better to do than to harass little old ladies who do not own TV sets! Whatever the case this must now stop. I have contact the Consumer Protection Association of South Africa for advice.
