COLLECTING ON PRESCRIBED ACCOUNTS

We recently started receiving threatening sms on my son's cellphone regarding an old Foschini account I once had. i was blacklisted for this account they now threatening that they are going blacklist me again for the same account.

As per the Prescription Act, I do not have to repay these debts as it has lapsed past the 3 year mark. Prescription is 3 years, and for working at a call centre of a Lawfirm to be demanding payments on a prescribed account is appauling, cause i expect them to know the Law. There are rules and laws that has to be complied with by debt collectors.

i want confirmation in writing that they have closed this account and we'll never be harrassed for the same, otherwise I will have no choice but to refer the Matter to the Law Society, Debt Collectors Council, Debt Collectors Ombudsman... the list is endless - I will motion for their trading Licence to be revoked. the stupid ref number they send us is: 0278000377787549.
