Retrenchment Assist
Bad Attitude, Passing the Buck, Short/Late Payment

I gave up a business in Cape Town to take a job here in Jhb, but after 2 months had to take the man to the CCMA via Retrenchment Assist for Harrassment and had to do this a second time after 5 months. Retrenchment Assist settled out of court, took R22, 500.00 for themselves, only paid me 2 weeks after they received their money and then into the bargain short paid me my Leave pay of nearly R5, 000, which they had actually received from my previous Employer (I received a payslip to tell me what they had paid out) Retrenchment Assist did not respond to my frantic e.mails, phone calls etc, put the phone down on me then closed over Xmas until mid Jan, still did not respond to my calls, neither did their manager and in desperation I made a trip out to Rivonia. They kept me waiting for 2 hours, were casual and when they realised their mistake, did not apologise by Rashieda think her name is made out that I was an and at fault. There was not offer to compensate me in any way, refund petrol, e.mails, printouts, inconvenience etc, but their management said I had opened a can of worms - wonder how many other people have been caught by Retrenchment Assist in this way???
