De Wet Lyell Nel Maeyane
Misinterpretation - Court order, Refusal to rectify

Lawyers & Legal Counseling

I have been called upon by the above Company in August, this year, to sign the final statement regarding the split of the profit made on our property that has been sold after my divorce.
It was agreed in the settlement agreement that all rates and taxes on the house will be covered by my Ex spouse until date of transfer as he was still living in the house.
When I signed the documents I did not have a knowledgeable person with me and I accepted that the attorneys are in a better position to interpret a court order as they work with this on a daily basis.
After proper scanning I realised that the rates and taxes were divided between both parties - not in accordance with the court order, and left me being over Six Thousand Rand worse off than what I were suppose to be.
After some correspondence with the Company the contact person indicated that they agree that they have made a mistake, but cannot rectify it now as it will put them in a bad light with their client, my ex spouse.
This is TOTALLY unacceptable and I wish to put it on record that it is THEIR responsibility to rectify this matter and refund me with the amount, incorrectly calculated. PLEASE ASSIST!!!
