FNB PRESCRIBED DEBT 26/10/2001

I have received a letter from Groenewald Lubbe attorneys demanding payment of prescribed FNB debt dd. 26/10/2001. During all this time, the bank failed to take action against me nor did they try and contact me for this debt (in fact I have current Platinum credit and cheque accounts with FNB - how is this possible if I had allegedly owed this money?!) but I have now received a letter from FNB's Legal department that the bank has recently reopened all 'bad debt' to try and collect these debts. I am putting it on record that I do not owe FNB R4760.31 as per the letter from Groenewald Lubbe, this debt has prescribed and I require the attorneys and FNB to clear up the matter and stop the harassment of trying to collect prescribed debt. I also wish the legal account to be removed from my current online banking profile as do not owe money on this account. I will defend any summons based on prescription and ask for legal costs against FNB and noted that listing prescribed debt on a credit bureau is specifically prohibited by the regulations to the National Credit Act and any attempt to list me may result in a defamation of character claim against FNB.
