I cancelled my Spectramed membership on 30 Nov 2012 after many years of loyalty. I was advised that there is a 3 month cancellation period, in case there are any claims still being processed. So my official cancellation date was the end of Feb 2013. At the end of Feb I asked them to refund the unused funds in my savings account, and was advised that ANOTHER 4-month waiting period is applicable for the refund, in case there are any claims still being processed. This alone I find outrageous, because I already had a 3-month cancellation period for the very same reason? Therefore, the funds had to be paid out at the end of June 2013. I sent them a reminder before the end of June, but no payment was made. I since then emailed them twice asking when the payment will be made as promised, but I get the same reply every time: "Your savings refund has been referred to the scheme for approval." No apologies, no further information or follow up. I think Spectramed ought to pay me interest on my funds, it is not as if they haven't made enough money off me in the 7-odd years I've been a loyal member. I never missed a payment, so why can't they deliver on a final promise? Totally unacceptable!
